A fully functional genuine Springfield Armory M1 rifle manufactured at the armory in Springfield, Mass and issued to troops as the premier semi-automatic battle rifle during WWII and the Korean conflict. 30-06 caliber. U.S. Ordnance recognized the superb design and reliability of this infantry rifle and it remained in military inventory well into the 1990s. Now, close to 70 years after its adoption, it is still one of the most widely recognized U.S. produced shoulder arm throughout the world and is highly prized by both collectors and rifle enthusiasts alike. All parts are original G.I. ( no reproduction and no welded up parts ) and our master armorer has completely inspected and gauged all parts for serviceability in our 36 point technical inspection. Nice bright bores with sharp rifling and good muzzles. Original stocks and handguards that show normal use but no abuse. We take each and every rifle to the rifle range and test for accuracy, function, and reliability. We just received a small grouping of Springfield Armory M1s that do not meet our strict grading standards to make our Battle Rifle grade. These rifles may exhibit more finish wear, barrel wear, and exhibit stocks and handguards that have seen considerable use. Still, fully functionable and reasonably accurate rifles with nice bright bores. We fully inspected and test fired each of these rifles and replaced any un-serviceable part with excellent or new components. We offer this grade in response to some customers wishes for a genuine M1 rifle that will shoot and function well, but at a substantially reduced price from our normal offerings. Stock and handguards are sound and will refinish nicely (if desired) or can easily be replaced with a quality replacement wood set available on the market.
